Question 1

What is Employment.Media?

Accepted Answer

Employment.Media is a video-based media platform that 1) allows applicants to record short video responses to hiring interview questions and securely share them with potential employers, 2) allows employers to choose or create hiring questions and pair them with open positions for applicants to submit video answers, 3) allows applicants to create a profile for the types of employment they want and submit video answers to listed job openings, and 4) allows employers to post open jobs and search for potential candidates by profile criteria.

Question 2

How do I create an account?

Accepted Answer

To create an account, visit Employment.Media and select Sign Up. You'll be asked to enter your email address and create a password. Once you confirm your email, you'll be able to log in and start recording video answers. An account is required before you can record, save, or share any video content.

Question 3

Do I need a Question Group ID from a potential Employer to begin?

Accepted Answer

No. You can create a Job Applicant account and begin recording video answers without a Question Group ID. A Question Group ID is only required if an employer has invited you to respond to a specific set of questions. If you are recording video answers to hiring interview questions on your own, you can create and save video answers first and share them with employers later.

Question 4

Can I create videos without being invited by an employer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can create an account and record video answers on your own without an employer invitation. Employer invitations are only required when you are responding to a specific set of questions sent by an employer. If you are recording videos independently, you can save your responses and share them with employers later.

Question 5

How do I record video answers to hiring interview questions?

Accepted Answer

After logging in, you can record video answers directly in your browser. If you are recording independently, you can choose or create custom hiring interview questions on your own. If an employer has invited you, you'll record video answers to the questions in their Question Group ID. In both cases, allow access to your camera and microphone when prompted and start recording. You'll be able to preview your recording before saving it.

Question 6

Can I re-record if I'm not happy with my first take?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can re-record your video answer before saving or submitting it. This allows you to review your response and try again if you're not satisfied with the initial recording.

Question 7

How many times can I re-record an answer?

Accepted Answer

You can re-record your answer as many times as you like. Each new recording replaces the previous version, so you can update your response whenever needed.

Question 8

Can I save drafts and finish later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your video recordings are automatically saved as you record. Videos are stored in your personal video library, where you can review them, re-record if needed, or add them to a Video Group ID to share with potential Employers later.

Question 9

My camera or microphone isn't working. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Allow camera and microphone access when your browser asks (if you dismissed it, click the camera icon in the address bar). Close other apps that may be using the camera, such as Zoom, Teams or FaceTime, check that the right camera and microphone are selected in your browser or device settings, and reload the page. On a phone, also check Settings → your browser → Camera and Microphone. If it still doesn't work, try another up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.

Question 10

Why won't my video upload?

Accepted Answer

Uploads need a steady internet connection. Stay on the page until you see the confirmation, and switch to Wi-Fi if your mobile signal is weak. Each answer can be up to 3 minutes long. If an upload fails, reload the page and record the answer again.

Question 11

What file formats are supported?

Accepted Answer

You record your answers directly in your browser, so there is nothing to convert or upload from your device. Answers are saved as WebM video (MP4 on Safari) and play in any modern browser. Each answer can be up to 3 minutes long.

Question 12

I can't log in. How do I reset my password?

Accepted Answer

On the login screen, select Forgot Password and follow the prompts to reset your password using your email address. If you don't see the reset email, check your spam folder or try again after a few minutes.

Question 13

How do employers receive my videos?

Accepted Answer

Employers receive your videos by accessing them through a secure link tied to a Video Group ID you share. Instead of sending video files directly, you provide employers with access to view your recorded responses in one place after they create an account and enter the Video Group ID.

Question 14

Can I submit videos to multiple employers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can share your recorded videos with multiple employers. You control who has access to view your videos by choosing when and how to share them, and you can reuse the same recordings for different opportunities.

Question 15

Can I delete or replace past videos after submission?

Accepted Answer

Videos are shared with employers as part of a video group. Once a video group has been shared, the group itself is what the employer has access to. To make changes, you would create and share a new video group. This helps keep each shared set of videos clear and consistent for employers.

Question 16

Is there a fee for my video answers?

Accepted Answer

No. Employment.Media is FREE for both job applicants and employers.
